Class Description

The certificate in Christian Ministry represents the goals and values of Mary McLeod Bethune as recently restated by the University: Faith, Integrity, Service, Respect, and Thirst for knowledge. Dr. Bethune initiated religious education in the wider community and on the campus of B-CU. Now the University is once again addressing the specific interests and needs of young people who want to serve the Christian church. This certificate has been developed in direct response to a need for theologically trained African-American clergy or for others who have a desire to be theologically trained from an African American perspective. With this new 32 hour certificate program that offers practical training with a focus on community service, the University will be reconnecting to historically established partnerships and markets.
